Chapter History
You have to know where you’ve been to know where you are going. Kappa holds a special place in its heart for Fraternity history, but every chapter of our organization has unique beginnings of its own. Each plays a part in shaping us today. Read more about our chapters’ histories in Kappa's digital archives.
The Zeta Nu chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma was founded on November 23, 1985. By the end of 1985, our chapter started as a group of around 30 women. 38 years later, our chapter has grown immensely. We have initiated over 1,130 women since our founding, and today are a chapter that consists of around 95 wonderful women. Since our founding, the girls of Zeta Nu have upheld strong ideals of sisterhood and strong work ethics. Some highlights of our Chapter’s history include: in 2020 Zeta Nu received the Outstanding Chapter of the Year award at the annual Greek Awards Convention held on UCSD’s campus, in 2021 the National Eating Disorder Association (NEDA) became the charity organization our chapter’s philanthropy fundraises for, and in spring of 2023 Zeta Nu started the new annual tradition of doing Kappa Kapture the flag as our philanthropy event.
