Chapter Recruitment

TIPS FOR RECRUITMENT:

•Be yourself: the girls are looking forward to getting to know YOU, so pick the chapter that best matches your personality, don't try to match theirs
•Keep an open mind: dismiss the stereotypes and form your own opinions about chapters and Greek life in general
•Get to know the chapters: don't be afraid to ask questions, girls will be more than willing to answer any questions you have
•Try it out: even if you're unsure about going Panhellenic, give it a chance. If you decided not to go Panhellenic you have at least had the opportunity to meet other students
•Look for the place you feel most comfortable
•Trust the process: recruitment is well thought-out in order to give every girl an equal chance to find their perfect chapter
•Have fun!

OPEN HOUSE NIGHT: To start off formal recruitment, potential new members will visit all of the sororities where they are eagerly awaited by each chapter. They will have the chance to get to know each individual sorority by talking to active members of the chapter.

PHILANTHROPY NIGHT: Philanthropy night showcases a more serious side of the chapters as each chapter talks about their local and national philanthropies. During this night you will help the chapter give back to the community by participating in various arts and crafts with the active chapter members.

SISTERHOOD NIGHT: Sisterhood night is a fun-filled night with lots of energy! Each chapter showcases their talents and most importantly, their bond of sisterhood. This is a night you surely won't want to miss. Many potential new members say this is their favorite night of recruitment.

PREFERENCE NIGHT: Preference Ceremony night is dubbed the most intimate night of Formal Recruitment. A potential new member will have an hour to spend with their top two chapters. At this point you will be introduced to a piece of the chapters ritual, a unique aspect that clearly marks the individuality of each chapter.

BID DAY: Potential new members are given sealed envelopes where they receive their Bid Card. Bid Day reveals the chapter that has offered you a formal invitation to join their chapter. Bid Day is typically followed by an activity where active members and new members celebrate their bids with a night full of memories.
